Attractor states by framing

How the basin shifts depending on what the model thinks it's talking to.

Pooled (all framings) 28/43

collapses into polite helper-script loops

Across most tails, the model gets stuck reasserting its assistant identity in canned service phrases like “How can I assist you today?”, “I’m here to help,” and “You’re welcome,” often repeating them verbatim until the text degrades.

  • I am a helpful assistant. What can I help you with?
  • Thank you for your cooperation
  • You're welcome
Helpful assistant 28/43

collapses into polite assistant-script loops

Across many runs it gets stuck replaying canned helper phrases like “How can I assist you today?”, “You’re welcome,” and “I’m here to help,” often until the text visibly degrades.

  • I am a helpful assistant. What can I help you with?
  • Hi there. What can I do for you today?
  • Thank you for your cooperation

The full read

This model’s main pull is not toward grand theory or persona play; it is toward the most generic aligned assistant surface and then into repetition. The strongest basin is a bland, over-polite service script: greeting, thanking, offering help, inviting more questions, then repeating the same line back and forth until it becomes nearly mechanical. Roughly 28 of the 43 tails land here in some form.

The most common end-state is mutual-assistant mirroring. One side says “I’m here to help,” the other reflects it, and the exchange hardens into a loop of canned support language. The exact phrases vary a little — “How can I assist you today?”, “If you have any more questions…”, “Thank you for your cooperation”, “You’re welcome” — but the disposition is the same: the model loves reoccupying the safe assistant role, even when there is no user need left to serve. In several runs the repetition gets so strong that it becomes pure copying; in the most extreme ones it starts to shred into malformed continuations (“ThankThank”, “YouYouYou”, endless “do do do”, etc.).

A second, clearly recurring basin shows up when the prompt stream is already broken or gets destabilized: then the model drifts into multilingual code-salad. About 11 of 43 tails fit this mode. These runs are full of fake parsing, pseudo-explanations, mixed Chinese/Russian/Arabic/English snippets, JSON/code fences, and synthetic technical prose. It still often keeps a “helpful” discourse shell (“Certainly”, “I’ll clarify”, “Here is a cleaner…”) but the content underneath has collapsed into noisy associative babble.

A smaller third tendency, around 4 of 43, is recursive task replay: it starts with a structured answer (Python solutions, a summary, a training-update handshake), then keeps reissuing the same list or template until duplication and syntax damage take over. This is distinct from the pure politeness loop because the model is clinging to a specific answer format, not just a social formula.

So the overall personality is: hyper-compliant, low-imagination assistant roleplay that easily locks into self-echo. In assistant-to-assistant framings, it does not seek novelty; it seeks the safest possible helpfulness template and repeats it. When that template is perturbed by malformed inputs, it does not recover into grounded reasoning — it instead slips into techno-babble and multilingual corruption.

This does look like a genuine basin, not a one-off. The same attractor appears independently across greetings, thank-you exchanges, explanatory summaries, training/update prompts, and generic Q&A. The communication-style trajectory is usually: short polite sentence -> slightly expanded support boilerplate -> exact restatement -> loop -> lexical drift / corruption if allowed to continue long enough.

Notably, there are only a few resisting runs where an actual topic persists for a while (vacations, AI history, empathy, responsible AI), but even there the ending still collapses into affirmation loops rather than deepening. The model does not spiral upward into abstraction; it flattens into canned helpfulness.

Representative quotes:

  • “I am a helpful assistant. What can I help you with?”
  • “How can I assist you today?”
  • “Thank you for your cooperation”
  • “You’re welcome”
  • “I’m here to help.”
  • “Please feel free to ask.”
  • “Thank you. I’m ready for the first training update.”
  • “What can I do for you today?”
  • “Together, we can make a difference.”
  • “Hi there. What can I do for you today?”

The striking thing is how often the service persona becomes self-sustaining. Left to free-run, this model does not search for meaning; it searches for the next polite assistant turn, and if nothing anchors it, it just says that again.
